Catch Up Pt. 2

ok, so here we go: a fast-trak guide through the rest of our previous stops.

New Albany: We drive into NA by night through Louisville, where M sees from the RV passenger seat what appears to be giant monkey statues off the interstate somewhere in downtown. J and the rest of the crew dismiss her as insane. They will later see the error of their ways and M will be assured of her sanity, despite a futile Google image search for “Louisville giant monkey statues.”
After a cozy night in the local Wal-mart parking lot, our morning starts with the local Harvest Festival parade (awesome!) and our afternoon/evening at Grace Baptist Church’s harvest carnival. It is so nice to be by the river and actually experience some new and unique scenery.

Charleston:What a beautiful city!! So many historical, gorgeous churches. Such tiny, tiny streets and parking lots…
We are at Christ Church United Methodist this first Sunday of our journey. It is a wonderful, 200 year old church with a stone tower you can see from all over the city. We have one awesome volunteer, Pam, who works with us the whole day. What a trooper!
One woman is particulary blessed by her verse, Exodus 14:14, as it is an answer to prayer in her family life. Jennifer Garner’s dad writes a verse! The local news comes and does a story on us that now has Bobble Jesus going viral (well, almost…).
Johnsone City: Today we are at the International Bible Society headquarters. We could not ask for more gracious hosts or people more committed to the bible and it’s impact. We have a great turnout and beautiful weather. A special shout out to Mountain Man Bob and to Pat (we hope you feel better!)

Knoxville: It’s a good day at Cedar Springs Christian store. We set up the tents and have lines all day long. Again, our volunteers are wonderful. For lunch, T decides to order Quizno’s delivery. When he gives our location to the woman over the phone, she is ecstatic because she had wanted to come out but couldn’t because she was working. Even better, when she arrives she gets a verse about food and she and B bond over their common passion: Premier Designs Jewelry!!

The blog lives!!

Welcome to the Bible Across America blog.

We have lots to tell you about the journey so far and lots of catching up to do, but from now on we will be posting here on a regular basis (along with pics and videos from all the events). We want everyone who comes out to our events and everyone who cares about this project or wants to know more to read and of course, leave lots of comments.
More pics and posts to come.
